Last week I began a small painting series that celebrates summer. It started off with flip flops and this week summer peaches. I love doing small paintings. It gives me a chance to complete a painting in a few hours and hones in on needed skill sets for doing larger ones.
Peaches always remind me of my grandmother and her family. Many of her brothers and sisters grew peaches and some for a living. They would arrive with boxes full. My grandmother would then make them into pies and peach cobbler and sometimes jam. She was a great baker and she is the one who taught me all of my baking skills.
A more modern take on peaches is to grill them on the barbecue. If you have not done this, you should. They taste fantastic, especially topped on a bowl of ice cream.
Wonderful memories of summers spent with family is why I chose to do this painting. The painting is 9’ x 12’ and has been done on a linen panel board. It is available for purchase at Wendybsstudio90264 on Etsy.
